These Terms and Conditions govern your use of For the Love of Tartan™, The Tartan Letter Club™, our website, forms, emails, membership tools, private member spaces, and related services.
By using the website, subscribing to the letters, applying for membership, becoming a member, or participating in The Tartan Letter Club™, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the website or participate in the program.
About For the Love of Tartan™
For the Love of Tartan™ is a private correspondence club for Americans and Scots drawn to letters, heritage, friendship, cultural exchange, and meaningful connection across the water.
The Tartan Letter Club™ is the private member room within For the Love of Tartan™.
This is a correspondence club and private membership experience.
It is not a dating app, swiping app, matchmaking marketplace, visa service, immigration service, relocation service, legal service, financial assistance platform, marriage service, sponsorship marketplace, or public personals board.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to apply, join, or participate.
By applying or joining, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
We may decline, restrict, pause, or remove access at our discretion if we believe a person is not a good fit for the room, violates these Terms, violates house rules, creates safety concerns, or misuses the platform.
Applications and membership approval
Applications are reviewed before membership invitations are sent.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
Approval does not guarantee any specific introduction, relationship, correspondence partner, outcome, response, or continued access.
We may approve, waitlist, decline, pause, remove, or revoke membership access at our discretion to protect the room.
Founding Membership
Founding Membership may include access to private member letters, correspondence prompts, orientation, house rules, member profile features, private member spaces, and moderated introduction opportunities as the circle grows.
Features may change over time as the program develops.
Founding Membership begins immediately after signup with the materials and member access available at that time.
Moderated introductions and community features may open in stages.

Billing and cancellation
Membership billing is handled through the payment and membership tools used by For the Love of Tartan™.
You may manage or cancel your membership through your member account:

Cancellation stops future billing according to the terms of the membership and payment system.
You are responsible for managing your subscription before the next billing date if you do not wish to renew.
Refund policy
Refunds may be requested within 14 days of signup.
If you join and decide The Tartan Letter Club™ is not the right fit, you may request a refund within 14 days by contacting:
After 14 days, membership fees are generally non-refundable.
Refunds are reviewed based on the original signup date and payment record.
Members removed for violating the house rules, including harassment, money requests, scam behavior, sexual pressure, explicit images, fake identity, repeated unwanted contact, or other unsafe conduct, are not guaranteed a refund.
House rules
Members are expected to behave with respect, honesty, patience, and basic decency.
Please do not be creepy.
This is a room for thoughtful correspondence, not pressure, pursuit, fantasy, or unwanted intensity.

Impersonation
Spam or promotion unrelated to the purpose of the room
A slow reply is not an invitation to push harder.
A kind answer is not a romantic promise.
A boundary does not need to be defended to be respected.
If someone says no, not yet, not interested, slower please, or does not reply, that must be respected.
Photos and image policy
Each member profile may include one profile photo.
At signup or member onboarding, members may be encouraged to submit a clear, recent photo of themselves so we can support trust, safety, and human review.
A profile photo is not used for public browsing, swiping, rating, or dating-app-style matching.
For moderated introductions, a clear and current profile photo may be required before an introduction is offered.
Members may share appropriate images in posts inside the private member room if they choose.
Explicit images are not allowed.
Do not upload, post, send, or imply sexual, nude, suggestive, fetish-based, harassing, threatening, or unwanted intimate images.
Do not use fake photos, celebrity photos, impersonation images, or misleading profile images.
Do not post another person’s image without permission.
Any explicit image, unsolicited sexual image, or image used to pressure, shame, harass, or sexualize another member may result in immediate review, restricted access, removal from the room, or termination of membership.
Members removed for violating the image policy are not guaranteed a refund.
Member conduct
You agree not to:
Misrepresent your identity
Use the club for scams, solicitation, financial requests, or manipulation
Harass, threaten, shame, pressure, or intimidate others
Send unsolicited explicit or sexual content
Post explicit images
Push members for private contact, romance, marriage, travel, relocation, visa help, or sponsorship
Share another member’s private information without consent
Post another person’s image without consent
Violate the safety, privacy, or trust of the room
Use the platform for unlawful, abusive, exploitative, or unsafe conduct
We may remove content, restrict access, pause membership, or remove a member if we believe these rules have been violated.
Moderated introductions
Moderated introductions may be offered as the founding circle grows.
No member is guaranteed an introduction.
No member is required to accept an introduction.
Declining an introduction does not require explanation.
Introductions are not endorsements, guarantees, background checks, compatibility determinations, safety guarantees, or promises of relationship outcomes.
Members are responsible for their own choices, communication, boundaries, and safety.
Direct messages and member communication
Direct access between members may be limited, staged, or moderated, especially during the founding season.
The purpose is not to recreate the chaos of random direct messages. The purpose is to build a safer room for thoughtful connection.
Members may not pressure others to move to private contact before trust is established.
No guarantees
For the Love of Tartan™ does not guarantee that you will meet someone, form a friendship, begin a romance, receive replies, receive introductions, or have any particular experience.
The purpose of the club is to provide a more intentional environment for correspondence and connection. Outcomes depend on individual members and participation.
Safety disclaimer
We take safety and moderation seriously, but we cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, conduct, or truthfulness of every applicant or member.
Use care when communicating online.
Do not send money, gift cards, crypto, bank information, travel funds, visa fees, or financial support to another member.
Report concerning behavior to:
Criminal conduct, threats, and serious safety concerns
For the Love of Tartan™ does not tolerate threats, stalking, harassment, extortion, scams, impersonation, non-consensual intimate images, sexual exploitation, or other unsafe or unlawful conduct.
If we believe a member has engaged in serious misconduct, we may remove content, restrict access, suspend or terminate membership, preserve relevant records, and cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement or legal authorities.
Members are responsible for reporting crimes, threats, stalking, extortion, image-based abuse, fraud, or other illegal conduct to the appropriate law enforcement agency or reporting authority in their jurisdiction.
If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services in your location.
Content you submit
You may submit application responses, profile information, posts, comments, photos, messages, reports, or other content.
You are responsible for the content you submit.
By submitting content, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate another person’s rights, privacy, safety, or intellectual property.
You grant For the Love of Tartan™ permission to use submitted information as needed to operate the website, review applications, provide member access, moderate the room, investigate reports, and administer the program.
We will not sell your personal information.
Intellectual property
The name For the Love of Tartan™, The Tartan Letter Club™, website copy, member materials, prompts, page designs, branding, logos, graphics, and original content are owned by Rebecca Adams Strategy & Design LLC unless otherwise stated.
You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, resell, or use our materials for a competing service without written permission.
Third-party platforms
For the Love of Tartan™ may use third-party platforms for website hosting, forms, payments, email, member records, and private community spaces, including Ghost, Stripe, Tally, Airtable, Circle, and related tools.
Use of those platforms may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for outages, errors, data practices, policy changes, or technical issues of third-party platforms.
International users
For the Love of Tartan™ is operated from the United States.
If you are located in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, or another country outside the United States, your use of For the Love of Tartan™ and The Tartan Letter Club™ may involve the processing of your personal information in the United States and through third-party platforms used to operate the website, forms, payments, email, records, and private member room.
Account access
You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address and account credentials used for your membership.
Please do not share your member access with others.
Membership access is for the approved member only.
Termination
We may pause, restrict, suspend, or terminate access to For the Love of Tartan™ or The Tartan Letter Club™ at any time if we believe a member has violated these Terms, violated house rules, created a safety concern, misused the platform, or acted against the purpose of the room.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, For the Love of Tartan™, The Tartan Letter Club™, Rebecca Adams Strategy & Design LLC, and their owners, operators, contractors, or representatives are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the website, membership, private community, correspondence, introductions, or interactions with other members.
Indemnification
You agree to hold harmless For the Love of Tartan™, The Tartan Letter Club™, Rebecca Adams Strategy & Design LLC, and their owners, operators, contractors, or representatives from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from your conduct, your content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of another person’s rights, or your interactions with other members.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
Continued use of the website, membership, or private member room after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
